I don't think that he is capable of winning a national election. That is why I will not vote for him and I think that his universal health care plan is fiscally irresponsible and definitely unable to receive passage.

Did anyone else look at the overall results? I was surprised to see that most supported the views of the ACLU, NAACP, League of Conservative Voters, and Planned Parenthood. Also, most opposed or did not support the NRA.

Do you think this is media influence?

The NAACP used to be about ending racism and promoting equality, but that was a long time ago. Now they are more interested in defending the indefensible behavior of blacks. Even worse, they've turned into one huge Democrat PAC since Kweisi Mfume took over.

The NAACP is currently sponsoring lawsuits to attack gun makers because they are trying to say that gun makers are responsible for gun crime in cities, and over the fact that far more young black men are shot than whites is somehow attributable to gun makers. I guess it's easier to blame gun makers than to admit that the lawlessness of inner city black men is the problem.

They are also tying up time and resources trying to justify black men ignoring their responsibilities to their children on slavery, and the stigma of slavery. For every problem that African Americans face, the NAACP can come up with some way that it is all the fault of slavery and white America. And the NAACP sees these problems as impossible to fix by changing the attitudes of black America, rather they can only be fixed by more and more money.

The NAACP did an outstanding job of promoting equality and civil rights in the 60s and 70s, and they've lost all of the respect they earned then by trying to justify continuing all black-related entitlement programs, black-on-black crime, 85% illigitimate birth rates, etc., by trying to blame Republicans, slavery, racism, etc., rather than taking a hard look in the mirror.

Although I do not agree with the gun lawsuits, I always thought it did have one valid point: That the manufacturers sold way to many guns in rural areas, in states with lax gun laws knowng full well that the majority of the purchases were straw purchases to be taken back to the city. Having said that though, I beleive that was an issue for the states to raise not the fault of the manufacturers.

Here's the thing that most people don't understand. Gun manufacturers rarely, and I mean very rarely, sell guns directly to dealers. 99.9% of all guns sold by manufacturers are sold to jobbers like Sarco Arms, Southern Ohio Gun, and others, who then sell them to the dealers. The only exception to this distribution policy is some gun makers have custom shops that create hand-tailored firearms for very specialized purposes, and these are sold directly to the dealers who order them for specific customers.

So, a pistol made by Beretta USA here in Maryland may be sold to a jobber in Ohio, who then sells it to a dealer in South Carolina. That dealer in South Carolina may end up transferring the gun to a dealer in California. Or, in the case of mass retail chains like Sports Authority, the gun from the jobber in Ohio might go anywhere in the country to be sold.

In short, the idea that gun manufacturers have conspired to sell guns to areas where they could be easily smuggled into cities, or "knew" that they were selling too many guns to a particular area, is nonsense. If any case could be made in this regard, it would be against the jobbers, but the fact still remains that firearms are a commodity, and like any other commodity they are traded, bartered, and sold between dealers before they end up being sold to the public.

The bottom line is that there are unscrupulous dealers out there, and street criminals who misuse the guns. These are the people that need to be caught since they are the ones who are breaking the laws. But it's always easier, and more financially rewarding, to go after a few big corporations with deep pockets than to hunt down a large number of broke-a$$ criminals. So in the end, the criminals and guns are still on the street, people still get shot, and folks like the NAACP make money while the gun makers lose money or go out of business defending lawsuits.
