Fred Ashmore rented a Mustang GT, crammed it full of fuel tanks, and claims to have driven from New York City to Los Angeles in under 26 hours, shattering the solo Cannonball record.

There have been a number of attempts recently due to roads being less traveled because of the virus. However, I've also read that all of these attempts and new records are also being disqualified because the roads are empty.

Which in itself is crazy. Load the roads up with unsuspecting travelers, then make the run.
