Um, don't know about that camera, but I highly recommend the Nikon D40.

I really need to stay Canon because all of my accessories for my current camera will still work. Otherwise I am looking at a very large expense.

Nice, lotsa pixels!. I just got the 40D and the same lens. So far so good.
