Canon Powershot S5 IS Digital Camera

Thoughts? I think I'm going to get this instead of toting around hubby's heavy Canon EOS 20.

So ... what do ya'll think?? Is it flexible enough to use as a point and shoot but also allow me to fiddle around with stuff and learn how to take different types of shots?

I got one from Amazon for $299. Great quality, easy to use, and all sorts of stuff to fiddle with if you want to. The fireworks mode is :yay:

Great camera for the price. I'd buy it again.

I have the S3 IS--the version before--the only difference is the S5 has a hot shoe and I believe the LCD is larger--I love mine---but I am outgrowing it---I will get an SLR--just a matter of time and money. I saw a link on here earlier today www.thecameraprofessionals.com-- they had some good prices and say all product are brand new! I don't know though....its the first time I have ever heard of them and I searched high and low to get adapters, lenses, filters for my S3
Canon also has a bulletin board www. photography-on-the net.com--search for S5---lots of info from users there.
I think youv'e made a good choice,,,,but like I said--I am a little prejudice because of my S3!

My sony cybershot died so I needed a new one. Hubby as a Canon EOS 20 that he lets me use so I think something portable like this will be great!

I still need to work my way up to his 20!

Id suggest NOT purchasing anything from them, and make your pruchases through reputable merchants such as Digital cameras, all other cameras and everything photographic from Adorama Camera, B&H Photo Video | Digital Cameras, Camcorders, or any of the others.

Always google the url or merchant name to see what feedback is out there for them. Also, when purchasing cameras make sure it comes with the manufacturers USA warranty, not a third party which usually indicates it is a grey market camera.
