Another celebration of getting critical facts wrong.
Most were correct though. As far as him being hostage already, I think that is a matter of how he saw it. They were all hostages. Broken glass, big deal. I'd be more interested in if the guy really braved bullets to get the power off and if the other really went to adjust the fire hose. Him not locking the bridge is big same as the drill they were running. When I saw they were picked because they weren't near the other ships, I thought he really messed up in that regard. Reckless and not really a hero as portrayed. So most facts correct, whole premise incorrect.
Wonder if Tom Hanks would have taken the role if they told him "You don't offer to trade yourself and you don't offer to take a bullet. You screw up and end up causing the crew to blame you and sue the company for your intentional negligence."
Hard to say. As far as the lawsuit, hey it's for the money. America. Also him not going to the engine room was a pretty big fact. Makes perfect sense for him to say on the bridge, so why change that?
Watched last night. My favorite part....
Negotiator " I need three green lights! "
Negotiator " Execute! "
Hanks " WHAT WAS THAT!!?"
I busted out laughing.
To think all that could have been prevented if able to have weapons.
I loved the movie, but was irritated by that the whole time. I guess there is a reason, but I just don't get the no weapons thing.
