We've been really tearing the crabs up the last couple of weeks, they're FANTASTIC right now. Weve been to Capt. Leonard's 4 or 5 times and as always everything is good there, but the crabs are as good as they get right now.

So yesterday we pick up 2 dozen at Capt. Smith's in Solomons. They COULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORSE!!!!!!!!! They were fishy, had been reheated, were old and light, watery......and had that awful metallic taste. We threw the whole mess away.

They should be ashamed of themselves for selling that crap. Especially in Solomons where so many tourists come. If those were my first taste of So. Md. crab, I would be so disappointed. This wasn't my first bad experience there, but we figured we'd give them another try, but never again!

I've never had problems with them in the last ten years. You should have taken them back and got your money back. I know there have been instances where friends have made purchases for Capt. Smiths and was not satisfied. They gave them a refund.

The original owners were great, they really cared about thier product. We got bad crabs there before and took them back, what they replaced them with were even worse. Right now, they're catching more crabs than they can sell, there's NO excuse for reheating old crabs!

I picked them up late afternoon and by the time I got home and called they were closed. I wasn't keeping a bag of garbage overnight and then driving all the way to Solomons to get a refund.

You are right about the orginal owners. Bussey was awesome. My uncle (the little asian guy) worked with them for a long time. I'm sorry to hear about your crabs!

I remember your uncle. He's great. When we owned Oakwood Lodge, I'd order 100 lobsters from him twice a year for our clam bakes. He always remembered me!
