I'll provide the link so it's easier to see what I'm seeing, and what I think I'm seeing.

She's a naval aviator; you can tell by the khakis and the flight deck jersey that says "Shooter." It's also probably an initiation of some kind; witness the lack of shoes (and the cool socks). Also witness the shuttle in motion; my guess is that her footwear is riding the catapult to the end of the flight deck. Having been an airdale, and not an officer, I'm not privy to their odd rituals.

LOL I figured someone would catch that. But that Shuttle goes that direction thought doesn't it? I only spent a bit of time on a couple LHDs for Helos, Never saw a catapult but don't those thing shoot in the direction the LINE is lying in?

She's a shooter, a catapult officer "shooting" aircraft off the deck. The Landing Signal Officer (LSO) is a rated pilot, and on the aft end guiding and grading the landings.
