Car flipped on Plum Point Rd

THAT was my little brother. Everyone was/is OK. It was crazy... they were traveling WEST when an animal ran out in front of him. He's an inexperienced driver and so he swerved to avoid hittin it (naturally), over-corrected, slid sideways up onto the guardrail, spun a 180 (ended up facing EAST), and flipped into the ditch.

Wow!! Glad everyone is okay! No matter how much you are taught not to swerve for an animal, I think it is just second nature!

Hubby and Son are both always telling me to never swerve to miss an animal. So, how did Son wreck his truck?? Swerving to miss an animal! Luckily, only the truck was damaged.

Having Fun!
Cars can be replaced, little brothers can't. Glad to hear everyone was okay! Don't let him wait too long before he gets back behind the wheel.

I live off of Plum Point Rd. Seems like every single day lately, I see deer all over our neighborhood. They're even in our yard constantly.

Thank God he's ok. It's hard to not swerve when you see something in your path, natural instinct kicks in.

You can say that again! Left for work at 6:00 am the other day and a deer was standing 20 feet in front of me in the front yard and didn't move! I hollered at him and he finally left. Sucker had a rack on him too!

I have never seen so many deers out as of this year. Hunters, please go to town. A quick reminder.....hit it don't veer in the ditch. Brake until just before impact then let up on the brake so your front end rises and the deer goes under your car instead of in your windshield.

Has anyone done this successfully? Seems to me that most deer are hit because they dart out from trees or brush alongside the road, and most people react by immediately slamming on the brakes. Does anyone really have enough reaction time prior to hitting the deer to think through and use that technique?
