This weekend's race at Bristol marks the introduction of the Car of Tomorrow. :bigwhoop: They are on the track now in a practice session.

This is a big race this weekend. A race 7 years in the making, the future is this weekend and the future is now.

I've watched every NASCAR race since 1993. For the first time in my life, Mark Martin will not be on the starting grid. :frown:

Oh, and add Ryan Newman to the list of drivers I haven't much respect for...

I think they're going in the wrong direction with that car of tomorrow concept, and even further away from their roots. I liked it better when they raced actual stock cars (or closer to it, anyway). If they're going to make everything that much alike, why not just have 36 IROC races. At least the IROC cars look cooler.

The car of tomorrow is fugly. I really didn't think NASCAR was going to get it this far, and I still doubt they'll end up running it full-schedule next season. I've been headed more for the ARCA direction myself. Unfortanently, you don't get to see half the ARCA races. Perhaps if one of these smaller networks (CW, MyNetworkTV) would pick it up. SPEED's TV contracts killed ASA and they're doing the same to ARCA.

I wish TNN was still on-air. :crying:

If you get HDNet you can catch NASCAR Grand National Division races - lots of rising stars, short tracks, and good racing. Very little politics as well! Put your car on the track and go racing for 150 laps, doesn't get much better than that.
