Carpet Cleaners

Most of my house is hardwood floors, but the living room is carpeted, which is only like 550-600 sq. ft. of berber carpeting. I'm having a hard time getting quotes from some of the carpet cleaners in the area because I only have one room that needs to be cleaned, and most have at least a 2 room minimum.

The machines you rent are worth a crap. Does anyone have any suggestions for a professional cleaning?

I bought my own Hoover SteamVac, I think they're about 150-200 dollars for a decent one. Buy their carpet cleaning solution, add a little oxy clean (if there are lot of stains), add hot water and do it yourself. I clean my carpets at least 2 or 3 times a year instead of paying someone else. I don't have Berber carpets though, so I'm not sure......

I have one, unfortunately it dosen't work well on Berber....not enough suction for the crevices in the carpet.

I have berber with the best padding the store had. I called them to see who they recommended, Danny O'Conner, located in Tall Timbers. Cleans carpets, and has his own business, thus no restrictions on rooms. His charges are VERY reasonable, and the carpets are dry within a few hours instead of a week with Servepro. If you can't find his number, I'll try to find his card and post it. He also does house cleaning.

It sounds like a bit of a tough situation, especially with the 2-room minimum some companies are enforcing. You might want to try reaching out to some smaller, local cleaning businesses or independent contractors—they’re often more flexible with smaller jobs like yours. Some carpet cleaning services may also have discounts or different pricing for smaller spaces, so it’s worth asking about that. Another idea is to look for cleaning services that offer a per-square-foot rate instead of a minimum room requirement. You could also check if any of the bigger chains offer a single-room option, especially if you explain the situation. It’s also possible to find great reviews of small, professional companies online that could help. Keep trying a few more options, and I’m sure you’ll find someone who can handle just your living room!
