Cat door :yay:

Poor Kiki Stinkertoes would like to keep me up all night but too bad for her, I'm a sound sleeper. Occasionally she'll wake me up when she actually launches herself against the bedroom door repeatedly, trying to break it in. But not very often.

My Ribbons will launch herself from my dresser onto my back in the middle of the night and "tackle" me, waking me from a SOUND sleep. I'm on meds that knock me on my behind at night; so that's saying something.

Other'n that, she will climb up and curl up in a ball right under my chin when I am laid back in the Lay-Z-Boy trying to channel surf.

I have had cats all my life. Sounds like she is in need of a young companion that she can be a friend with. Same age or older cat would not be good. She would feel more stressed. A kitten might help?

She is spayed. She is about 3 years old and I rescused her from the shelter.
I've had cats all of my life and she is the wildest cat ever and very hard to handle at times.
I had gotten her for my sons birthday 2 1/2 years ago but just found out that he has a cat allergy. I can't get another cat to keep her company and the allergist even suggested getting rid of her. However, I feel horrible getting rid of any animal.
So if there's any people out that wanting to give a a kitty a good/safe home let me know:)

Oh come on, now. Srsly?

She doesnt want to. If we let her in the room she scratches at stuff and keeps us up then too.

WAH.

Be responsible. Teach the cat what is and is not appropriate to scratch. Cats will ALWAYS scratch, it's part of their nature. They do it to condition their claws and to stretch. Catch her scratching, take her to a cat tree and show her to scratch it. Have several places where they are allowed to scratch. They're not going to go all the way upstairs for the one place you let them scratch. The house/apartment/whatever is a lot bigger to them than it is you.

Be responsible. Get your kid some allergy medicine. Obviously been fine for two and a half years, some Flonase should do the trick. Don't kick the cat out before you really try. It's so hard to find them homes, especially good ones. I'm allergic to cats, but I have two. The severity wanes after a while. Like with medicine, your body builds up a tolerance.

i am also allergic to cats myself and have 2 and a dog. i take allergy pills for it (zyrtec). It helps and the cats even sleep in bed with me at night and so does the dog. the only time i really have to take allergy meds is during the spring summer and fall winter i don't have to as things get better for me and i don't suffer too bad and need the allergy meds. also what helps is vaccumming i vaccumm once a week but maybe should do more as i have 3 animals so when my stepdad cleans the carpets again we don't get as much doghair mess but i seriously doubt it will matter as i have not plush carpet.

It's a real shame when people post on this site for advice on what to do with an animal and they get rude comments.

Yes I'm serious.. Don't sit her and lecture me about what to do about my childs allergies. My child comes first!! Always.. And not that you would know but my son does take allergy meds and nose spray every single day.
So if it comes down that I get rid of my cat (to a good home) then guess what its a commendable action. Most people who dont consider their pets their everything would have dropped the cat off at a shelter by now..

Don't be so rude.. Geeez

Oh whatever. It's a real shame people don't know how to use Google. I'm not saying your child doesn't come first. I am saying however that if your kid has allergies, two and a half years is some serious time to keep a cat and not have put two and two together.

Don't be so stupid.

If you're going to get all offensive about the advice, maybe you shouldn't post the question.

i agree with you mAlice and the others who have said the same thing. shes got her panties in a wad. She asked a question you all gave advice. My animals are just like my children they are with me til they die of old age or end up with something that they would end up suffering from in the long run. Right now I got 2 healthy animals and one who has a bladder infection but i think she is on the mend as she is coming out from hiding under my bed and i haven't seen any messes under the bed in teh last few days.

Personally, I think it's a fabricated story by an mpd looking for attention. I mean really, how many times have you heard a story like this? I felt as soon as I posted my response that this was one of those "there will not be a good answer to this question" threads. Or, this is what it really boils down to...

So if there's any people out that wanting to give a a kitty a good/safe home let me know:)

YEAHTHAT.

You started off wanting advice, to which there was no solution, and now you mention that your kid's allergic and has an allergist telling you to get rid of the cat.

I smell a pot-stirrer that doesn't want to take responsibility for a pet anymore. Own up, lady.
