Cat VS Carpet

I have a 15+yr old cat that seems to like to occasionally pee on rugs (which i no longer use) in my house. She uses a litter pan and I scoop it out several times a day to ensure she has a nice clean spot--still 1-2 times a week I find a suprise wet spot. Is she mad at me? the kid? the dogs? I dont know. This thursday we are getting new carpet in 3 rooms and i'm not even excited about it. I fear she will ruin it within hours. ANY tips/suggestions or ?? is appreciated. Since I have raised her since birth it's very hard to just 'get rid' of her and that is not an option right now. THANKS!!

Is this something new she does, if she is older maybe she has a bladder issue?

If she is older..have her kidneys checked at the vet..my older pup had a few uncharacteristic accidents..turned out it was her kidneys..(drinking tons of water too) ..also cats are prone to diabetes..esp if she is a big kitty. She may also just have an attitude..:killingme but if this is a new thing..she should really go to the vet and get checked out..several things it could be with an older kitty like that....

My moms dog kept having accidents in the house we took her to the vet and had her checked turn out she had diabetes. get your cat ckecked you might be able to solve your problem with pills or insulin shots!!

Urinary tract infection is probable, hopefully it's not diabetes. I lost my old cat to that recently.
