Cat vs Skunk...

rwethereyet

Yeah, okay.
Yup - Skunk won. I know people have said tomato juice will get the smell out. What do I do, just pour the tomato juice on him and let it sit, then rinse? I smelled the skunk this morning when I left, but I figured one got hit on the road or something and just never paid anymore attention to it. Hubby called and said the cat must have got sprayed because obviously said cat smells like a skunk. He wasn't around this morning when I left. This has been about 6 hours ago.... I'm sure the skunk spray has dried now. How hard will it be to get the smell out? He's an outside cat, but I don't want him walking around stinking up my yard. And he rubs up against your leg when you are feeding him, so I don't want to get the stink on us!!

BTW - Hubby said 6 feet of dirt on the cat would take care of the smell. :smack: So don't offer that suggestion! :lmao:

Go to Petco/Petsmart and get the Nature's Miracle for Skunk. Make sure you can use it on cats...it worked like a charm on my Boxer about a month ago. We tried the baking soda mixture which helped a little.

There was no residual smell on the dog.

Check with your Vet ... he should have some "Skunk Away". With that smell, I'm sure your cat won't be catching any mice.
