Catholic schools ask delegates for state aid

Anyone read today's enterprise? I'm torn on this. Yeah, everyone pays taxes so everyone's child's should be entitled to state school aid but at the same time, why is it a private school and not open freely to everyone if they are going to be operating with government money.

I'm sorry but the Catholic Church has more money they can ever use. They should start sending it back to the parishes instead of asking for taxpayer funds.

When I was in high school the state provided textbooks for all catholic school students because we were required to take a statewide test at the end of every year. This way they knew that the catholic schools and the public schools were teaching from the same book. IF that is the case in MD then yes we should provide them, if not then no.
