Folks who do that are hurting the places, which may well be the only help homeless or other people down on their luck may have.

You’re stupid…..

Those that have run and do run the Catholic Church are stupid... Lets be honest here.....
The Catholic church has been pumping boys in the ass since the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476..... And its still going on.........

I think I recall scouring stats regarding pedophilia and learned there really wasn't a significant difference between those in the clergy and those in the general public. Ditto the teaching profession. If adults interact with youth - there's a possibility it happens. Worse if no precautions or policies are there to protect against it.

It shocks us, because these are precisely the people we want to believe would NEVER EVER do this sort of thing, so we are understandably angrier with them. But you could almost choose any other profession that has any contact with children, and the likelihood is still there.

And thats what I have read myself, It would be more truthfull if I would have posted.
Catholic Clergy are more Likely to Be Paedophiles protected from prosecution for sex crimes and moved to another location of opportunity by a huge wealthy international organization claiming to be the one true moral compass for the world than the General Public....

What is really ignorant is that after the Boy Scouts of America had numerous sex offense scandals they end up being forced to take girls as members.

That's not at all what happened - actually, the whole effort to bring girls in was THEIR idea, and the Girl Scouts weren't happy about it.
BSA has been suffering from reduced numbers over decades. A shame, because it's been the best thing to ever happen to my kids.
But BSA decided to make a move that would open it up for girls to reduce the losses. "Forced" is utterly the wrong word - and my daughter is in a Scout troop - they do not meet or go to camps or do much at all alongside their male counter parts. They do participate in public events like parades and service work, but in most respects, they function separately. Troops are not "co-ed".

And BSA has also stepped up to the plate to stop sexual abuse - you would not believe how determined they are to avoid any such thing. My son isn't even allowed to take an online course with an adult - in the presence of other kids - without another adult present. We've had any number of events that had to be cancelled because not enough adults were available. And they do this at every level - small groups, meetings - even age levels for boys camping together and buddy systems. You'll find that most of the scandals involve events long past. They have truly taken on the situation responsibly - rather than close their eyes and pretend it didn't happen.

Yes. And teachers. And fast food franchises that employ kids. And special needs assistants. And daycare workers.
And so on - anywhere adults interact with children.

And your average Catholic parish isn't anywhere near as rich as people like to think.

Agreed. Same as the Catholic Church. Most events occurred long in the past. And no, I am not Catholic.
Neither am I, but I was raised Catholic until I left forty some years ago. I went to Catholic schools and was an altar boy and the parish priest was my best friend for a short time in my teen years. And I still regret not having gone to a Catholic college where they showed significantly more interest in my future academic career than the ones I attended.

I dont believe I can agree with that statement.
The data is so inaccurate with the church not giving names and dates of what clergy were where and when, its not like the church calls LE on known offenders. Still today, of a problem arises one is just moved and checks are written.
Along with how many children / familys that have yet to speak out at all.
