Why would somebody get rid of a good-looking dog like that? You'd think his previous owners would have found friends to take him or something, not just stick him in the pound.Shannie0308 said:

It's a good thing for the dog, cause people like that don't belong having children.

Question..... By reading the form it say's "We require that all dogs adopted be spayed or neutered. Do you have any questions or reservations about this? He's so pretty, I would like to stud him with mine. Now mine is AKC. Obviously not sure the background of Cody.
Thoughts?
I TOTALLY agree with you!! I am so sick of hearing "but my dog is AKC registered". A dog can be the worst possible example of the breed and still be AKC registered. There are WAY too many great dogs in shelters that need homes already. Unless you have TONS of experience with that specific breed concerning health problems, conformation, temperment, etc. and you strive to breed and find dogs that in an expert's opinion are the best representation of that breed (and have eyes, hips, elbows, heart, etc. checked) get them spayed and neutered!!! I don't want to seem like I don't understand wanting to breed your own dog- hell, I'd love to breed my dogs sometimes and I'm sure it'd be a blast but it's just not fair to the breed unless your willing to put the research and time into it. There are so many breed rescue groups out there with loads of dogs from "hobby breeders" that need homes. A great breeder that truly cares about their breed usually has their puppies sold before they are even born!! They are also very particular about the homes their puppies go to. Again, I don't want to insult anyone but please think hard before you breed- there are just so many dogs that need homes already- AKC registered or not.cattitude said:You know my position on this. AKC doesn't mean a hill of crap. Are you going to health test them? And I mean do all the heart tests...holter monitor, echocardiograms, etc. to be sure they are heart healthy? Doesn't matter that you will be selling pets. Boxer have soooo many health issues. He is a pretty dog, but not exactly a great specimen for bettering the breed. And I speak about this from first-hand experience.
Ugh..he ended up in a shelter...
Okay, I'm done.
