Anyone else been down this road?

My furball stopped eating dry food about 2 weeks ago. Taking her in for a dental exam today. I'm fearful that I'll be left with an empty wallet and my furball will be left with an empty mouth.

Furball had no cavities and excellent teeth overall despite being 9 years old. Vet made it sound like being an outdoor hunter and catching live critters is a factor. I guess chock one up for the benefits of being indoor/outdoor.

It was good to see you out celebrating last night

Glad to hear it! There are some thoughts that bones can have a "brushing" effect (and that indoor cats fed a bone-in raw diet can have a similar benefit).

Any ideas why Furball stopped eating dry food? Has he (she?) started eating it again?

No theories on the dry-food boycott. The vet did find a small sore on her gum that could have been the result of bone-crushing but she seemed to think it was something that would heal.

My yard is mole-city and when she catches one, she eats the whole thing. Head, fur, bones, everything.
