CCA + MSSA + VFW = Happy Veterans

Guys,

Yesterday at the Point Lookout state park fishing pier, a bunch of guys from 3 different organizations got together to help make a special day for some veterans. About 40 vets from Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Walter Reed Medical Center, and the Local VFW post were treated to a day of fishing from the pier.

They caught all kinds of fish, including: Bluefish, Spot, Flounder, Sea Robins, and Puffer fish. Most people caught atleast 6 fish each thanks to us stacking the deck with a few chum bags off the pier.

The Patuxent River Chapter of CCA, the Southern Maryland Chapter of MSSA, and the California (MD) VFW Post 2632 cosponsored this event. Donations were recieved from HM Wagner and Sons, Wonder Bread, Wall Mart, Rocky's Baits and a few others.

Here's a few pictures I snapped, I'll try to post more when I get them from the others that took some. I wish I had take an picture of the fish I saw, but the smiles in the final picture were the real payoff. Alot of the guys said they would sleep well tonight after the day in the sun.

Is this going to be an annual event? What a great thing to do! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
