Charles Co. CCPS hosting virtual Early Learning Launch parent workshops

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is hosting its Early Learning Launch virtual event on March 27. The event features two virtual workshops about school readiness skills. The workshops are ideal for parents of children who will start prekindergarten or kindergarten in August.

Children must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021, to be eligible for the prekindergarten application process. Children must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021, to be eligible for kindergarten enrollment.

The first workshop, Countdown to Kindergarten, is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on March 27. This workshop is ideal for parents of children who will start kindergarten during the 2021-2022 school year. The workshop is hosted by CCPS staff on the online Zoom platform. Interested parents can register for the workshop here. All participants will need a Zoom account to access the workshop. This workshop will feature school readiness content and information about how parents can complete kindergarten registration. Kindergarten registration begins March 29.

The second workshop, Prek Prep, is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on March 27. This workshop is ideal for parents of children who can start prekindergarten during the 2021-2022 school year. The workshop is hosted by CCPS staff on Zoom. Interested parents can register for the workshop here. All participants will need a Zoom account to access the workshop. This workshop will feature school readiness content and information about how parents can complete the prekindergarten application process. The application window opens March 29.
