Registration to provide comments at the Board of Education and Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) town halls set for Monday, June 29, is now available. A town hall for CCPS staff and teachers is set for 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday, and a parent/community town hall is set for 6-7:30 p.m. CCPS is accepting 30 registrations per town hall. This will allow each attendee two minutes to provide comments during the town halls.
The town halls are about the reopening of schools in the fall and will be broadcast as WebEx virtual meetings. Both town halls will be streamed live on the school system website, www.ccboe.com, and aired live on Comcast Channel 96 and Verizon FiOS Channel 12. Staff will provide a presentation outlining reopening options. The presentations also will include results compiled from recent staff/parent surveys. A comment period will follow.

Registration process
Registration is required and limited to the first 30 submissions. During the registration process, participants are required to include their first and last name, as well as an email address to receive meeting access. Each registration is assigned a unique identification code.
Anyone who registers to speak will receive two emails: one acknowledging the registration request is pending, and a second either confirming or denying a registration. Any registrations received after the 30th participant is confirmed will be denied registration. Emails will be received from messenger@webex.com.
Approved participants should use the “Join Meeting” link included in the acceptance email from a computer, tablet or cell phone that has a microphone for audio. Approved participants also will receive a town hall reminder one hour prior to the start of the event. Participants who do not have access to a device with a microphone can call in to the meeting using the number provided in the accepted registration email.
All registered participants will be muted during the town hall except when it is their turn to speak. Speakers will be called by name, in alphabetical order by their first name, and unmuted when it is their turn to provide comments. Speakers should recite their name before providing comments. CCPS reserves the right to mute a participant for inappropriate language and/or remove them from the town hall meeting as a participant.
