KMSHA genetic research associates recommended that the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Association board of directors agree to OPEN THE REGISTRATION BOOKS and offer registration of suitable gaited mares and the upgrade of Appendix mares already registered with the association for a limited time. Therefore the KMSHA books for registration and certification of Mares who meet the breed qualifications and standards ARE OPEN to all gaited breeds.

For a limited time, "Members only" may now register their gaited mountain horse mares with two Examiners signing off, a video sent to the KMSHA office and associated registration fees.

Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Association examiners Dee Fleetwood and Wendy Jordan will be on site to perform breed certifications for KMSHA.
Membership and registration/certification forms are available on the KMSHA website. To save some time, please see the link below to download and fill out your paperwork ahead of time (including membership form if required for registration). This is a very unique opportunity so please spread the word!

The examiners will have a measuring stick for size classification. Participants can bring the 5 pictures required for submission (back, front, both sides, under chin) to be sure they are compliant for submission if desired.
