Has anyone else received threatening letters from the Census Bureau? I started the online form and had to stop to gather more information and received another notice via USPS over the weekend admonishing me for not completing it yet.

I've not received any correspondence from the Census Bureau.

Yup right before Christmas. I wasn't being very cooperative and didn't send one form back because they insisted that my son HAD to fill it out on his own. You know him and you know it's not possible. I even got phone calls from them. I finally got an agent that said fill it out for him. I kinda resented the questions on the form. And the length.

Exactly! I started it right before I usually turn in for the night. I didn't know it was going to be so invasive. I don't know all those numbers off the top of my head! Sheesh!

Do a search in the archives. We go through this every once in a while. I did it the last time. I put my name on it and sent it back. Never heard a word from them.

What are they threatening to do?

I really don't remember if they threatened, but I give them props for persistence. I think they mentioned fines, against the law not to return etc etc. This started out as biweekly and moved on to weekly, then phone calls.

They beat me down. My son is permanently disabled, on Social Security, Medicare, Tricare for Life, and participates in a state funded program for adults like him. I didn't want to risk losing any of that.

Nothing. They just state on the mailing, "Your response is required by law". They sent me something else today. A letter sized packet that says "Open Immediately". Apparently, they dont know me. I'll get to it when I have time I suppose. They don't state there's a deadline, so **** 'em.

And what proof do they have that you ever received it? Census: Why haven't you replied to our demands? Me: Huh? Don't know what you are talking about.
