Centennial st closure

Does anyone have any idea why centennial st in la plata is closed just before crain hwy? Has been for about a month and I haven't seen any roadwork. It's gonna cause an accident. I was nearly hit head on on Saturday because a car wanted to go down the wrong side of the road to get around the closure. I've contacted the town about my concern, just wanted to see of anyone here had any insight
