Changes at SoMDNEWSNET

One of my favorite sites to visit was SoMdNewsNet. I always enjoyed reading all the comments on the news stories that were posted by their readers. I've noticed that all those comments are now gone (Even in all the archived stories) and now you can't leave any comments. Does anyone know why this change was made? If its a permanent change, I don't see myself bothering to go to that site any more!

Reading the Comments was the only reason to read many of the stories.

Someone probably crapped in the pool so now they have to kick everybody out.

They need to get them back or their clicks will go into a free fall. The comments are the main attraction over there.

I noticed this a couple weeks ago. Lots of threats of violence and spreading of private information, not to mention the inevitable accusations of bias. Probably got to be a liability nightmare.

I'm not sure if he makes users register and be approved before they can comment, but I'll bet that's why he turned it off. Letting it be a free for all is exhausting and he's a busy guy with no time to babysit 24/7.
