:huggy: I was just funnin' with you! I know there were some other GSD lovers who used to post a bit. I was hoping some of them might see this thread and be "in the market" for another pal!

I love GSD and I would love to get another dog to replace my old beagle that passed last month, but until my other dog recovers from her sickness, I will have to hold off.

I would love to have another GSD, but the furlough & pay cut doesn't allow me to take on another mouth to feed and vet. :ohwell:

Yep, there's no such thing as a "free" pet!!! My friend is "fostering to own." They might do that with another dog too? I'm not sure if they help her with costs for "upkeep" or not. We've thought about getting a "buddy" for our grandpup, but with the cats that don't like the dog, and having to keep everyone on separate floors, it's just not a good time for us either.

When fostering they provide microchip, spay/neuter, shots and flea and tick and vet bills if the pet gets sick. I am fostering to own because I wanted to make sure Lilah wasn't food aggressive. She has passed with flying colors and I'm going to make her a permanent part of the family this weekend. I wish I had a bigger place so I could have Sampson as well but there just isn't enough room. The good news is that if he isn't adopted soon he will be picked up by a GSD rescue, not put to sleep.

Our new chihuahua, Tucker is a foster-to-adopt from the Humane Society. In fact, he's getting neutered today and then he will be ours! He's a complete joy - I will be looking at other dogs while I am there picking him up in a few minutes.

If you have room in your home for a dog, you have room in your heart....go have a look!

I think I have someone that is going to go up there after work tonight :yahoo:
I was telling her about the GSD :)

Did they get the GSD? I saw (it) while I was there and what a pretty dog! I did a double take when I saw it.

They had a beautiful female yellow lab - Sunny, I think her name was. She was very friendly when I said hello to her.

Can't wait until I have a fixed schedule and can volunteer some time there.
