Charles County New Mask Mandate?

Who else just got the email from Matt Morgan outlining Charles County's attempt to re-implement the mask mandate WTIH FINES and SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ENFORCEMENT?

Apparently the Charles County commissioners were taken to court a couple months ago and lost the mask mandate, hence the reason for them dropping it last month. But now they are coming back stronger than ever. Public hearing tomorrow night for anyone interested. Sounds like they have a strong group pushing back against this insanity.

The Charles County Commissioners will be holding a public hearing Wednesday night to re-implement a mask order for the entire County. However, this new proposed order will contain personal FINES and requires enforcement by the Sheriff's office. If passed, you may see arrests made over non-compliance.

Reopen Charles County is asking those residents of their County who disagree with their Commissioners forcing a county-wide mask mandate to testify at the Public Hearing on Wednesday. From now until Wednesday afternoon, you can submit a public comment. Although the hearing is virtual, Reopen Charles will also be hosting a rally at the Governmental Center Wednesday night in La Plata (200 Baltimore St. La Plata), beginning at 5:15 pm. Those testifying will be able to log in and testify from the rally on the provided laptops connected to Wi-Fi hotspots. This way, the Commissioners can see the strength of the opposition to their mandate.

Just sneakin' around....
I was in Harbor Freight yesterday, and the door sign had been replaced. From 'mask mandatory' to 'we suggest wearing a mask'. It was nice to go in with no mask.

So now it could be changed again? Back to mail order....

From Matt Morgan less than an hour ago:

Dear Friend,

Earlier this morning, I sent an email about a "Stop the Mask Rally" in Charles County tomorrow. Well, this news is a breath of fresh air. The Commissioners of Charles County must be feeling the pressure of Citizens speaking out against this, and I am happy to report that they have postponed the mask mandate hearing. Therefore, the rally hosted by Reopen Charles County is postponed as well.

Again, I want to thank Reopen Charles County for their steadfastness and congratulate them on their success! It pays to fight back.

It bears reiterating that while some businesses in Charles County may have a company policy requiring face coverings, there is NO government mandate order in place at this time.

Have a great week,
Hearing rescheduled for January 12th
