WALDORF, Md. -A Charles County sheriff's deputy is recovering from a gunshot wound, and authorities are looking for his cousin.
The deputy, 33-year-old James Thompson, was off duty at the Waldorf apartment where he lives with his cousin, 28-year-old Christopher Jenkins.
Investigators say Jenkins shot Thompson in the arm with Thompson's service weapon, and then fled the scene. The gun was found in the apartment.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office says investigators have not yet determined what led up to the shooting.
