That's a pretty broad question, don't you think? Do you have something more specific?

BITE ME - that is FAR from the reason I asked. So, if you have nothing of substance to add, please back out of my thread!

Broad  Do they not get annual precentage raises, like the feds? How does the county government pay raise system work. I ask because I may apply for a job and wondered if pay raises have been consistent over the past several years.

You have different "government" workers; I'm not sure if they all fall under the annual pay raise policy, if there is one.

I work for CC government and everyone I work with including myself has had a raise since last year.
How many people do you work with and how can you vouch for ALL of them? :snacks:

I work with 20+ people and I think I would know if everyone got an increased pay considering the fact that my manager told me, and I have access to what our pay rates are.

Well, then...there you have it...the entire Charles County Government has had an annual increase. :otter:

I wasn't saying that the "entire Charles County Government bla bla bla" . I was just stating that I work for them and that we had. but okay, interpret it however you want to, I was just trying to help the poster.

I worked for CCG for 6 years, although it's been 10 years now since I was there, but they probably still do business the same way. County government HATES to change.

There are step increases and Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) increases. Step increases are based on your performance. When I left, they ranged from 0 to 5% per year. The COLA increase is voted on by the commissioner's each year. If you search their website on the term 'COLA', you'll see lots of discussion each year in the commissioner's meetings notes as to what it will be that year IF they have one. From what I see, it has been between 2 and 3% for the last couple of years.
