Charles Gibson quits ABC 'World News'

Quits! In what respect Charlie??? See ya, guess he got tired of being on another Obama news hack network!!!

Looks like the nightly news anchor carousel has yet to stop.

Charles Gibson, who has anchored ABC’s "World News" since 2006, will retire at year’s end, he told ABC News staff in an email sent this morning.

Diane Sawyer, his former “Good Morning America” co-host, will replace Gibson in January.

Gibson, who is 66, says in the email that he had always intended to retire in 2007 before the “World News” job came open.

But he decided to stay on when he was offered the “World News” job.

Peter Jennings, the longtime “World News” anchor, died in August 2005. He was briefly succeeded by Elizabeth Vargas and Bob Woodruff, who co-anchored the program until Woodruff was injured in Iraq and Vargas became pregnant.

Gibson stepped in in May 2006, just a few months before Katie Couric took over “CBS Evening News” and a year and a half after Brian Williams succeeded Tom Brokaw at “NBC Nightly News.”

Under Gibson, ABC rose briefly to first place in total viewers, moving ahead of NBC. But over the past year, the program has shifted back to second, with Gibson drawing the program’s lowest audience ever during one week earlier this summer.

With Sawyer moving over to “World News,” the network will also need to find a replacement for her at “GMA,” which has long lagged behind NBC’s “Today” in the ratings.

Gibson may continue to do occasional reporting or analysis assignments for ABC.

I know all of this idiocy starts with the GOP leader Mr. Limbaugh because he's good at saying everyone is against us--all the television stations, all the newspapers, all the magazines, all the whatever else is left----but, it becomes a cliche after the 1,257th time it is used in an argument.

And it ain't true.

The folks at ABC don't have a meeting with the folks at CBS and decide how to screw the GOP in a story that day.

But of course it makes for a good story. Truth ain't an issue if it's a good story. Obama wants Charlie to be a Czar I bet.

The problem happened when the mainstream media picked a side and trashed their journalistic integrity. America clearly saw the lop sided playing field and that's why the main stream media's numbers are in the tank. Many now consider these once powerful news anchor's nothing more that news hacks today. I even read the Katie Couric, Once America's Sweet Heart is now referred to as Obama's new hoe!!! Oh wait, I wrote that...
