Chicken pox

Sula

WDF. So worth the wait.
My varicella vaccinated boy has the chicken pox. They aren't bad. He feels fine, but itchy and his face is just all jacked up looking. Most of the pox are around his mouth and inside of his nostrils.
I'm having a difficult time finding ways to give him any relief from the itchiness because of the location of the pox. I have soaked a wash cloth in warm oatmeal bath and laid it on his face. It seems to work well as long as it is on his face, but the itchiness returns as soon as it is removed.
Any ideas, suggestions, or personal experience would be great. TIA

Have you tried Benadryl?
If someone tells me that it works I will try it. I have avoided giving it to him because it tends to make him very hyper. Since I am going to be home with a 6 year old boy, who feels fine, for the next week I'd like confirmation before trying.
Geez, how about that run-on sentence?!?

Seems to work for everything else. Don't know about chicken pox though. It makes him hyper? I love Benadryl... it makes mine sleep :lmao:

Sure does. I give it to my oldest and it helps to calm him and help him go to sleep.

Meet me at WAWA in California... and we can ride the rest of the way together... I know sorta where she lives... we can just shout SULA until she answers

That works for me. But please yell "Sula, Baby!"
