She should have been dishonorably discharged. What she did was a serious security breach risk to that vessel. And lied to the ship's Captain three times about it.

If the ship ever needed to run silent, (or whatever the naval term is), no communications, that Starlink dish would have made it possible for an enemy to track it.

I don't think the base was secret, but they didn't acknowledge US personnel being there. So when the US Fitbit site shows GPS tracks of their runs on the public map people can easily put two and two together.

The father/son team back in the 80's did that. The son worked in OPS on CVN-68. Soviets didn't need to spy, they had the entire 6 month schedule.

I think the son got 7 years, the father life if I'm not mistaken.
