Childcare Waiting Lists?

Hi,

I am looking for M-F full time 6-6 inhome or daycare for my son beginning on July 1st.

I am having a horrific time, I'm either getting the answer that I'm calling too soon (which I understand) or people have waiting lists past July (I also understand). I just don't know what to do, I seem to be going around in circles and getting nowhere fast. I'm afraid it'll get to June and everything will be full.

Can anyone help me or pass me some great daycare leads in Charles County or know one that will take me on a waiting list for July 1st? I commute from Charlotte Hall to DC so anywhere in from Charlotte Hall to the outskirts of Waldorf works.

Thanks very much for looking!

It will be almost impossible to find in-home daycare after 5 pm.

Good luck with your search. I know it is frustrating

Try Robyn's Nest 301-645-1046. They are open from 6 - 6. They are located in Hughesville (by Gallant Green Road).

If you're willing to go over 231 and up Rte 4 into DC then you can try my daycare-Ms. Bev's in Dunkirk. I HIGHLY rec. it. It's def. worth the drive. Their hours are 6:30-6:30 though so maybe if your hours are a little flexible.

Have you tried Children's Learning Tree in La Plata? They're great, my daughter just started going their a few weeks ago and I interviewed at ever center in Southern Maryland.

Let us know how it goes!

I think that's about how long I was in daycare. My mom worked in DC too. Didn't harm me.

Thank you! I feel guilty enough already about leaving him but in order for me to be able to give him the life I want, I need to travel to DC. I just realised I wouldn't drop him off till 6.30pm anyways.

I use Imaginations. They actually don't close until 6:30 and they are great. You have to pay the price to work in DC. You get what you pay for there.

Can't you just chain them to a parking meter and drop a quarter in?
