They have programs to attend in the morning and then I will catch up with them at lunch time and show them what we have been working on in the lab.

They used to have those "take your child to work days" when I was in HS. They just turned in to an excuse to goto the beach w/o "skipping" school.

While at my last command, several of the Admin folks participated in that. Was a level of Dante's Inferno for me. All the kids ever did was want candy, waste paper and color and annoy me. If I wanted to be around kids, I'd be working in Elementary school.
Nevertheless, good luck with all that.

I recall there was a time when my kids were little and I thought it would be a cool thing to take them to work. I think I actually did do that, once. But it's different when you're a co-worker and somebody's little darling is in the office, being a kid (as kids tend to do). I will say that females, especially mothers, generally seem to be much more tolerant of the youthful invasion than I ever was.

I say, leave 'em in school.
