In trying to build I's library, I have some of the classic's and such- but I wanted to know what were some of your all time favorites of your's or your childrens.

I have some that I want to add already

A Very Hungry Caterpillar
Goodnight Moon
Pat the Bunny

But I was wondering what were some of your ideas!

The Kissing Hand is another good one. My mom's preschool uses that in their orientation.

My favorite when I was younger was "The Tooth Fairy" by Audrey Wood. I purchased most of J's books through Scholastic books. My mom's been a preschool teacher for years and they were always giving me the little flyers.

Good topic!

Some of mine favs are:
Anne of Green Gables
Winnie-the-Pooh
The Black Stallion
Charlotte's Web
Most of Dr Seuss books
Beverly Cleary books
Little House in the Big Woods
Stuart Little

I could go on and on-these are the things childhood is all about; reading, being read to, cuddling in bed and learning to sit still.

My favorite was a little golden book.."The monster at the end of this book" It was the first thing I bought when I found out I was pregnant. My daughter loves "Brown bear Brown bear"

Also, I'd suggest not spending a ton of money on books at this point. Go to thrift stores and keep an eye out to see if the library will be selling any children's books. She'll most likely just end up tearing them up. J went through a phase where he tore every "pop up" out of his pop up books. Really any reading you do is beneficial. :yay:

migtig

aka Mrs. Giant
The orginial Winnie the Pooh

The Wind in the Willows

The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Where the Wild Things Are

The Cat in the Hat

Horton Hears a Who

The Complete Little House on the Prairie series

The Eugene Mudge series of books (can't think of titles but the author's name is Agee)

Charlotte's Web

Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret (and actually anything by Judy Blume)

These books range in age a bit, but it's a good start

Elmer is a good one, my son has loved Elmer since he was a little toddler, and now he is 8 and we will still read Elmer together.
