Chimps more evolved

Here's the best proof of evolution I could find. It proves to me that evolution occurs (ie, meaningless minor changes), and provides no clue as to mankind's superiority.
The article said:
Since the human-chimp split about 6 million years ago, chimpanzee genes can be said to have evolved more than human genes, a new study suggests.

The results, detailed online this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, contradict the conventional wisdom that humans are the result of a high degree of genetic selection, evidenced by our relatively large brains, cognitive abilities and bi-pedalism.

...

Bakewell, Zhang and a colleague found that substantially more genes in chimps evolved in ways that were beneficial than did human genes.

...

Random events would have played a more dominant role than natural selection in humans; the reverse was likely true in chimps.
Knowing that the evolution of chimpanzees is more advanced than that of humans shows me that evolution is more about random chance than about any meaning towards advanced intelligence, sentience, etc., etc. :lmao:

If that's the best proof you found, then I submit you weren't looking very hard/closely.

that's ok though.

Just go back through some older threads and pick out links by myself or maybe tommy or wxtornado etc.

T-P, humans did not evolve from chimps but the two species evolved from a common ancestor.

i.e. Chimps are our cousins, not our grandparents.

Right, that's what this article says. It says we evolved separately from the same evolutionary chain, and their evolution was more significant than ours.

Most of the ancestry is presumed, with significant gaps, but hey, that's faith in science!

 I won't bother. :lmao:

Not to start the "same old" stuff about creation vs. evolution - not my intent here....

I find it fascinating one can say with such conviction, "i.e. Chimps are our cousins, not our grandparents." and not believe in miracles, Jesus and the whole nine yards that faith in God requires. I mean, from any perspective the virgin birth is just as believable as chimps being our cousins! (Although I have looked at some of my cousins and wondered... ha)

I don't intend to insult, it is just funny to hear those words about cousins/grandparents.
