"As soon as she heard her classmates giggle and utter the word "Negro," 17-year-old Kayla Thomas started thumbing ahead in the test that had been handed out to her psychology class.

Thomas, a student at Klein Collins High School in the Klein district, says she was stunned to find that her Advanced Placement class had been given a copy of the so-called "Chitling Intelligence Test."

in the context of the course work the test is not so far fetched. Not sure how the sub presented it .

To really show how ethnocentrism is in effect just look at the reaction the student had to the material that was presented.

Given the same source materials to study there is no such thing as an ethnic test.

If the material included in the Chittling test are covered in school which students would stand the best chance of passing the test? That is the real question. Its also a better indicator of IQ.
But of course the test was written so that the material is not covered in school, it is a test of things learned in a particular neighborhood not many tests are or were ever written that way. Source material written for the test does not exist in an open class room therefore the test is biased.

...which is the reason the test was given in the Advance Placement Psychology class. It is another example of a biased test (like the Zogby poll) that is designed to show exactly what the designer of the test wanted to prove. It's all Bush's fault.

that is why I don't see it as relevant or not whether it is "highschool appropriate" material. If you are taking advanced placement, college level, then all that matters is whether or not it is included in college curriculum. If you are taking advanced phsycology, then you better be prepared to experience things you aren't going to agree with. Sounds to me like maybe the school is too lax about who they let into the class... any legitimate phsycology class requires the students to be mature...and obviously if they were laughing at a SIMPLE word like "negro", the class was not mature.
