What do you think is a reasonable amount to spend on your kids Christmas gifts? Do you set a certain amount of money or a certain amount of gifts to get your children?

If your not in the negative on every credit card you own your doing something wrong.

J/K... I have 3 boys, I spend 300 on each of em every year.

I am so very blessed
I'm in the minority, apparently. I say $50 per kid.

Clarifier: kids get $50 worth of gifts from us (dad and step-mother), but whatever their mother and step-father wants to spend on them is on mom and her husband.

I also have 3 kids and they get $300.00 a piece

Then clearly you are a bad mother and they will resent you for the rest of their lives.

If they are so young that they will look at it and toss it, get them a lot of small cost things. If they are older, get them ONE thing that they really really want then some candy. Worked ok for me!

Personally, I wouldn't spend more than 50 bucks a piece on the little yard-apes.

Mrs. Toxick, however, insists on putting me so far into debt every year, that I have to work like a ##### until the following Christmas to catch up.

Do what Chasey does... she puts all of hers on restriction at some point in the month of December and then come Christmas morning she tells them Santa didn't come because they are bad.

I think I want to live with NP. :yay:
Well, heck, so do I. If she's dropping hta tkind of cash at Christmas, I want to be a part of her family.

Do you think she'll have me?

I just don't see spending a lot of money at Christmas-time. I'm not going to go in to debt just for the sake of making sure the kids have enough, expensive toys and so forth. Besides....just how "much" is enough? :nomoney:
