There are lots of them to choose from. What denomination or do you want non-denominational?

You would be welcome where I go. It is a pentecostal church in Lexington Park. The congregation is quite varied and active. They have a web site. http://www.theworldofpentecostchurch.org/
I went to a Pentecostal church once... after having attended Lutheran church my whole life...

I gotta say... y'all scared the bejeezus out of me. Certainly was a unique experience, but not for me. At least the one I went to, you would certainly be right in calling the congregation "active".

I'm not criticizing. I just wanted to say that it was a far cry from what I was used to.

Was it because of passing the snakes or the rolling?

They are a lively bunch aren't they! LOL! But, I have been to 2A's church, and the people there are very warm and welcoming. And just for the record.. I can attest, there are not snake dances, or rolling or anything. But there is some good music! :D

In fact, this weekend (on saturday) we are having a big concert and bbq outside in the parking lot. We are introducing our new band Igneous!

The one I went to was "Assembly of God" or something like that. I think it was a Pentecostal church.

I just remember folks speaking in tongues and falling down.
Freaked the schizzle out of a 16 year old Lutheran...

Speaking in tongues is totally Biblical and an evidence of being empowered by the Holy Spirit. If you are "slain in the Spirit", you may hit the floor and there won't be anything you can do about it. I have never been "slain in the Spirit".

Maybe you would find a pentecostal service more tolerable if you went as an adult with an understanding of what you are seeing and hearing. You might even find you get a gift or two of the Holy Spirit too if you seek. You are welcome to go with me.

just make sure that you go someplace where the preacher doesn't condemn the congregation constantly....that is an abomination (Proverbs 17:15). There is one locally that does...

And you can tell if someone is faking it and just talking jibberish to get some kind of attention because the Lord will give someone the gift of translation and they will tell the listeners what the Lord has to say. :yay:

I for one have never experienced it myself either.

I used to work for a guy who went into one like that - amid the frenzy was this lady who grabbed hold of his bald head by cupping both her hands and shouting "GROW HAIR!!". He never went back.

Oh, and he's still bald of course.
