Good thing I work in Dahlgren. One of my coworkers has agreed to let me use his address for shipment. :yahoo:

Same here...coworker lives in VA. Still a stupid law that should be fought. I mean, they just passed a law to allow shipping wine into MD. Why should wine be any different from other alcoholic beverages, cigars, cigarettes, electronics, clothes, or any other legal product? They should all have the same restrictions imposed.

So does anyone know what 2010 law was interpreted to mean this?

2010 HB 88:
http://mlis.state.md.us/2010rs/fnotes/bil_0008/hb0088.pdf
This departmental bill requires licensure of other tobacco product (OTP) retailers, wholesalers, storage warehouses, and “tobacconists” that operate in the State as well as any manufacturers that produce OTPs in Maryland. The bill also specifies that OTP wholesalers are generally responsible for paying the OTP tobacco tax, institutes a bond requirement for wholesalers to secure their tax payments, prohibits certain types of OTP sales (e.g., Internet sales), and requires the Comptroller to adopt regulations to carry out the bill’s provisions.

Hmmm...toyed with the idea of rolling my own. Maybe I should seriously consider it.

I have a nice plot of land that can be used for growing tobacco.. Probably just enough for private use (for a few dozen people).

Wonder how hard it would be to get "Cuban Seed" imported into MD?

Then we just have to figure out what the hell we're doing, and find a place to dry the leaves.

Maybe in the end, someone will pay us thousands of dollars not to grow any.. that would be kool.

I know someone who knows a thing or two...
