PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – July 30, 2021 – The Calvert County Department of Economic Development invites citizens to celebrate National Farmers Market Week Aug. 1 through Aug. 7, by visiting one of Calvert County’s four farmers market locations and purchasing produce, meats, seafood and other local products.
“National Farmers Market Week is the perfect opportunity for citizens to show their support for the county’s agriculture community and appreciation to Calvert County Farmers Market Association members, volunteers, county staff and all others involved in making local farmers markets possible,” said Economic Development Director Kelly Robertson-Slagle. “Calvert County’s history is deeply rooted in its agricultural heritage and it’s exciting to celebrate the significant impact agriculture, and in particular, farmers markets have in our community.”
Stop by one of the farmers markets held on the following schedule:
Calvert County Farmers Market Association Markets
· Tuesdays in Prince Frederick at CalvertHealth Medical Center (130 Hospital Road)
2:30-6:30 p.m. through Nov. 23
· Thursdays in Dunkirk at Dunkirk District Park (10750 Southern Maryland Blvd.)
3-7 p.m. through Oct. 19
· Saturdays in Lusby at Sneade’s Ace Home Center (11861 HG Trueman Road)
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Oct. 23
Private/Municipal Market
· Saturdays in North Beach at North Beach Senior Center (9010 Chesapeake Ave.)
8-11 a.m. through Sept. 25
