Any mortgage lender will foreclose on your property if you do not make your payments.

I know that. Some one told me that there was a problem on how they were doing it. Not giving the correct amount of notice or something. I was checking it out.

Is this the same as Citimortgage??

Haven't heard anything here about them - but we mostly do Sim 2nds with them - so obviously hasn't been anything from them for a while! They tried breaking into the subprime market but their portfolio was crap and we never executed anything with them.

Are you trying to get a mortgage? If so we're seeing the best volume from BofA, Wells Fargo and Indymac right now.

When you stop making payments, that should be your notice

Tell your Dad to contact an attorney, he can file bankruptcy up to the minute prior to them foreclosing on his home and save his house. Also he should contact the Maryand States Attorney office in Annapolis. BUT, a mortgage company is only required to provide one 30 day default notice. Even if that's been in the past couple months they are not required by law to give you another 30 days even if you previously cured that default.

Citi seems to be pretty lenient - I just looked up our last deal with them - it was 7,539 loans of which 742 have paid off (as of February end). Of the reamining loans only 10 are SDL 120 and they haven't foreclosed on any. Our previous deal with them had 3 of 348 loans go into foreclosure.

I guess my point is that it takes months (shown here at least 4) to actually get foreclosed on. You can't not know it's coming! I'm sorry it's happening - but it's happening more than you could ever realize!
