A boil thing on her forehead. She had it before and the vet just lanced it and put some antibiotic ointment on it. So can I do that myself or should I take her back to the vet? I prefer not to traumatize her by stuffing her in the carrier, taking her on a car ride, and making her be at the vet's office if I don't have to.

When she had it last time, the vet didn't seem concerned - just lanced it and drained it out.

:faint:

I'm voting for the vet - but that's because I am a weenie when it comes to this kind of stuff. :cds:

Does my butt look big?

No, although it was pretty gross when the vet drained it last time. I don't have a needle I trust, so I'll pick up some lancets tomorrow at the drug store.

As you know, my Jack lasted almost 18 years.

I have heard that doggies have cleaner mouths, so you should let Apollo lick her to good health.

So shes on antibiotics now? Id just pop it like a big zit if you can or good luck trying to stick a needle in your cats forhead, mine would take it away and poke me with it before they would let me do it to them. But the most important thing is to get the puss and infection out. May the force be with you. :buddies:

I lanced her boo boo this morning and put Neosporin on it. It was disgusting and I dislike caring for the old and infirm.
Poor Claudia. She's such a good cat. Just wait until you're old and infirmed and someone has to lance a boil on your head. Then we'll see.

Pft. If it comes to that, I will lance my own boil with a .40. Ugh.
