Cleaning with vinegar

I have heard that hot water and vinegar in a spray bottle works wonders. Costs next to nothing. No chemical smell. Better for the environment.

Just cleaned my bathroom sink, toilet, and shower with the mixture and I'm not convinced. Doesn't look any cleaner than if I had wiped everything down with just the hot water. Honestly the only thing in my mind that is truly clean is the tub which I used Comet.

Am I just so used to equating clean with using harsh chemicals? Does hot water and vinegar really get things clean?

maybe a sanitizing process with vinegar ... not necessarily a soap scum removal thing

PS I grew up on a weekly chore of cleaning the bathroom, I scrubbed everything down with Comet Powder

Ah.. that makes more sense. We don't really have soap scum problem but I do think Scrubbing Bubbles and Comet get things clean. Well, I guess it's a good thing it was our bathroom that I "cleaned " with vinegar as opposed to our two teenage boys' bathroom. That will get scrubbed with the harsher stuff.

white vinegar and water (50/50 mix) does good for mirrors and windows.

I've used a concoction of vinegar, hot water and Dawn (blue) dishwashing liquid. Spray it on and you have to let it sit for awhile. You still have to scrub but it loosens the gunk.

I did add some Dawn when I was cleaning the shower.

not a seller but I really love the Norwex wipes. An investment at first, but they're high quality microfiber cloths with silver properties in them that help kill bacteria. They have various types of cloths for different rooms as well as polishing cloths for mirrors and glass. I use them on ev.er.y.thing! Except the toilet. I almost never buy cleaning products anymore. They're machine washable so I keep a couple around the house and wash them together when I need more.

The only thing I miss from cleaning products is the clean smell after...but I live with 4 boys, a dog, and cat...that smell lasts all of 5 minutes anyways  I just keep an oil diffuser or wax warmer in all the main rooms.

I use microfiber cloths as well. I live with 3 boys but 5 minutes of clean smell is better than nothing. Just didn't feel like things were getting clean when I used vinegar. I need to think it's getting clean to appease my soul.
