Climate Control Help

On Friday the switch to change where the air comes out of my A/C (feet, dash, windshield) broke. My diverter is now stuck on windshield & feet. Anybody know how to remove the panel with the control knobs so I can diagnose the problem? Or better yet, know what the problem is by some miracle?

Good luck.
My a/c went on the fritz and nobody would touch it. I had to go to the dealer.

Found out how to remove the panel. It just snaps in like a hubcap. Easy to remove. In fiddling with it, I managed to get the diverter to switch to dash level, so at this point at least I have A/C.
Didn't want to break anything in my system (worse than it already was) so I stopped by Brandywine on the way home on Thursday. Found an '06. Pulled the panel and disconnected the cables from the backside (this was my worry, didn't want to break an end on my cables). Took the junkyard switches out to my car (with permission) and pulled my panel. Disconnected my cables and attached them to the replacement. No joy. Knew as soon as I removed the cables that they were the problem. Hoking them to the replacemebnt switches just confirmed it. Took the pulled switch panel back in, told them what car it came off of and they wrote the car number on it (inventory tracking) and set it aside for "on-hand" stock.
When I got home, I consulted my manual (official Ford service manual) and saw how to get to the other end of the cable. Once I pull it, I will go back to Brandywine and get a replacement and hopefully that will fix the car.
