They go to Richmond and after that race, they're warned about their car being too close to tolerance. So they go to Loudon and "push the envelope" even further. Result, they win the race. NASCAR finds they "pushed the envelope" too far.

End result -- 150 point penalty and Bowyer is without Shane Wilson for the next six races.

They work extremely hard to make the Chase then they blow any chance they have away on week one.

Nice going.

You have to be kidding me!! Either there's more to the story or Nascar has their head up their ass.
We feel certain that the cause of the car being out of tolerance by sixty thousandths of an inch, less than 1/16 of an inch, happened as a result of the wrecker hitting the rear bumper when it pushed the car into winner's circle. The rear bumper was also hit on the cool down lap by other drivers congratulating Clint on his victory. That's the only logical way that the left-rear of the car was found to be high at the tech center. We will appeal NASCAR's ruling and take it all the way to the NASCAR commissioner for a final ruling, if need be."

I'm betting there's more to the story. Remember, the 33 team was warned after Richmond about their cars being too close to tolerance.

How the hell can you be "too close to tolerance"?? You either meet spec. or you don't. There's something going on here and I don't like it.

And why are they measuring to these tolerances?? Sixty thousandths of an inch is not going to win you a race (unless a dominating #14 runs out of fuel).

Especially when it is the "bumper" that is in question. How is a 1/16", be it to high or to low, going to give you any king of advantage on the race track?

Would THIS face lie?

That is Ed Zachary what I thought when I read the story last night....WHF is wrong with NASCAR? Suppose I am going down the road in a 55 MPH zone doing 54 and a cop pulls me over and gives me a warning for ALMOST going over the limit....NASCAR needs to get their heads out of their arses and move on....If my tires were worn down, my car would be sixty thousands lower than if they had new tires on....What a freakin joke....Hell, Tony said that if he had 1 more gallon of gas, his car would be sixty thousands of an inch lower....
