Is there another option to donate clothes other than say a thrift store?

I have a TON of girl clothes that need to be donated from Kenzie. A lot of it is pretty pretty princess stuff since she was my one & only.

YES!!!

Health Partners in Waldorf

La Plata Pediatrics & Women's Health in La Plata is a remote drop off location for Health Partners.

(says Charles County but they help every one)

Health Partners is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering quality healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured of Charles County by leveraging the skills and resources of the community.

Sweet!! I had no idea you all did that. I have to pick up a prescription this week so I can bring them by. :buddies: :high5:

I prefer them to go to someone in need who could really use them. I had brought some stuff to the thrift store and a few weeks later saw the outfits for $5 I was like seriously WTH

If the thrift store you saw your stuff at was Vintage Values, that markup isnt profit, those stores are run as a non-profit bvy the Center for Life Enrichment ,with the money going to pay salaries of the disabled folks who work there. Good work by good folks.

Schedule a pick-up with Purple Heart or Value Village and they will come pick it up from your front porch and leave you a receipt.

I did the Purple Heart thing years ago. There's no guarantee it stays in the local area and worse yet, their profit to charity ratio is questionable. And I dont know about anymore, but it took my husband telling them I was dead to get them to quit calling for donations.

Health Partners is a good choice; so is Children's Aid Society on Post Office Road in Waldorf. In both cases, the donated goods (if in good shape and with a size tag) actually go to people in the area.

I was at Vintage Values today. Seemed very low stocked...especially on glassware. The couple items of clothes I looked at cost almost as much as they would brand new from K-mart.
