Clothes Lines

One thing I don't see here in southern Maryland much is outdoor clothes lines to dry clothes. In Ohio you see Amish women hanging out clothes to dry at 6 AM almost daily, even in the winter.

Nothing smells as good as a blanket that was hung outside to dry.

Anyone know where to get the metal T Poles used to set up clothes lines?

I hang my clothes out on a clothesline. Saves money. Saves shrinkage of clothes in the dryer. Reminds me of the old days which makes me happy.

I like clothes hung on a line.

Hubby says no, clothes get covered with pollen and bugs.

Take the HOA to court and ask them to testify as to they hate the planet.
My next door neighbor was the Treasurer of our HOA for a few years.

We were talking a couple days ago about yard work, and I mentioned a law here in Maryland that says the HOA cannot stop you if you want your yard to go native. He said that HOA Laws are pretty vague here, and the HOA most usually wins because Maryland goes by Case Precedent, rather than Black letter Law.

When I was a kid a clothes line was all we had as did many of the neighbors. When we had a particularly bad stretch of weather. (Cold or Rain) we would wash the clothes at home and dry them at the laundromat. I would still use a clothes line but over the years I have developed some allergies and figured the dryer saves me some grief. Clothes definitely smelled good and there's no better disinfectant than the sun. Cheap too.

I wish I had an HOA, one of my interests is TV antenna design. HOA bylaws can not trump an FCC regulation that states nobody can prevent you from having a TV or radio antenna. On the OTA antenna Facebook group there are all sorts of stories about how an HOA tried to make people take their antennas down and lost.

Happened in my dad's community in VA, but with satellite dishes. HOA lost there too.
