I just saw the trailer! looks pretty cool with the blair witch type filming... I just hope I don't get carsick like I did while watching blair witch.

I think this monster will be a little more "in your face" than the Witch, though.

I just Googled it for photos, and the monster is sort of dull; somewhat stereotypical. A bunch of arms and eyes... kind of like Godzilla with a few other monsters mixed in.

Names Matter

Whats the connection with the title Cloverfield to a monster movie? Godzilla would have been pissed if one of his gang was so named.

I saw the movie today, and don't worry about clicking the above link as that's not what the monster looks like. BTW, you get to see the monster quite a bit, but it's pretty irrelevant given what's going on around the monster... that's what makes the movie good.

If you like the TV series "Lost", you'll like this movie. They don't waste a lot of time going into the why's and what's of what's going on. You just get immersed into the moment and run with the charaters through to the end. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie.

By the way, the Cloverfield name isn't a code. It's the exit that JJ Abrams takes off the highway when he goes to work. He just needed a name and that seemed like a good one.

aside from the camera shaking everywhere and the fact that I had some tainted food while at the movie theater and was busy puking in the bathroom..it was alright. I wouldn't waste money to go and see it though. My personal opinion to wait till it becomes a blockbuster.

Being the in the Navy, I thought that I was over motion sickness. After watching CLOVEFIELD, I wanted to throw up. THe movie was really good, which left me with several unanswered questions. I highly recommend prior to watching this movie, take some motion sickness pills to prepare you.

My son says it's a giant Isopod.
Could be.

Here is a photo of a real one.

I have not seen the movie, but - from the shots I've seen online - I thought it looked similar to the "monster" in "The Village", only with more appendages.

I watched about 10 minutes of it online :boo: Terrible! I would have been highly upset if I shelled out any money to see it.

I totally agree. Movie wasn't really scary because the camera guy was a riot. Oldest picked out that you see something splash into the water at the end of the tape which was actually shot a month before the incident. Space Mountain has NOTHING on that jerky camera motion. I felt ill through most of the flick.

I agree, the camera shaking was too much. The camera guy added some good comedy. Not worth $9 though.
