Co-mingling friend groups

People who keep their friend groups separate interest me. I'm a co-mingler. Throw these big parties, everyone is invited, you'll know some people and you'll also meet some new people. I get it if you're limited on space but when it's just keeping your friend groups separated I'm like, why?

"Hey, can we bring these other people?"
Yep!

What brought this on was I'm going to a thing tonight and just found out that only a certain group was invited. I know the host knows these other people and likes them, but they're not part of this specific friend group so they didn't get an invite. (This is why I never ask anyone if they're going to such and such unless I know fact certain they were invited. Whereas if it was my party friends always knew they could invite others, the more the merrier.)

So are you a separatist or a co-mingler? And if you like to keep your friends separated, how come?

Depends, I have groups of friends I know won't mix well, I don't try to mix them.

My shooting, hunting, cheap beer drinking friends would not mix well with my geek friends as they both have pretty strong opposite political and philosophical opinions.
