COFFEE FILTERS

Coffee filters ..who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar store for almost nothing.

1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave.
Coffee filters make excellent covers.

2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.

3. Protect China. Separate your good dishes by putting a coffee filter between each dish.

4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.

5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.

6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.

8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coff ee filter on a kitchen scale.

9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.

11. Pre vent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.

12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.

13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. Soaks out all the grease.

14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."

OH YEAH THEY ARE GREAT TO USE IN YOUR COFFEE MAKERS TOO.

When I was a poor college student, I made an angel for my Christmas tree out of coffee filters. It actually turned out pretty cute!

I remove my nail polish with maxi-pads (free) I guess a coffee filter would work in a pinch.

Ok, with the exception of the few I deleted...... plain ol' paper towels are FAR less expensive and do the job better.

14 ? Ok, who would do that, or just use a piece of toilet or tissue ? Some housewife has way too much time on her hands....

When you can buy 1K for $1 they are much cheaper than paper towels or TP. Plus, they are more absorbent so you tear off a piece at a time...kind of like a piece of TP for a razor nick...stick it and carry on.

Housewives can be thrifty. Not a bad thing.

Are they cheaper per square inch of material though?
I'm not sure, I'm really just asking

Hmmm... I guess I glossed over that 1000/$ thing... Still not sure I'd use filters in place of other things I have, regardless of the cost. Can you imagine visiting someone's home and finding coffee filters in every room?

"Where's the TP??"

"We don't use that, too expensive. There's coffee filters there..."

 and NO.

If I have an excess of one thing that can be used for other purposes I will use that instead of buying another item.

However, you will not get frou frou TP in my home. I stock Scott's.

If things ever get really bad I guess a coffee filter might be considered a luxury to wipe with. If you're really good I might hand you a maxi-pad. :jet:

When the daycare kids do the Thanksgiving show for their parents, I give the Pilgrim girls coffee filters for their little hats. Too cute.
